Gerald, Mo (KSDK) -- Crews from six fire departments battled a three-alarm fire at a Gerald apartment complex.
Firefighters got the call to respond to a fire in apartment six at 109 West Flottman Road around 5:35 a.m. Tuesday.
All residents in the 10 units were able to make it out safely.
The building was a former Pentecostal church that moved to another building next door. People from the church passed out clothes to the residents. The church also has a pantry that will be used to help the displaced residents.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but officials believe a discarded cigarette may have started the fire.
