Ozark, MO (KSPR/CNN) - An international fugitive from the United Kingdom has been arrested in Missouri.
Police say they found Eddie Maher in an Ozark apartment, living with a wife and two sons.
He is a suspect in a 1993 bank robbery in the UK where he allegedly stole $1.5 million.
His 20 years on the run ended after Ozark police were tipped off, then forwarded that tip to the FBI.
Neighbors say he worked for a cable company, while his wife worked at the front office of the apartment.
They say Maher kept to himself and they mostly knew him as "the husband."
"I saw him have an altercation with a guy the police was after that, it almost came to blows. And he was clearly high, not the husband but the other guy. That's pretty much all I saw of him other than him hopping in his truck to leave every day," said David Whitey.
The FBI says Maher had been living in the area for at least a year under a different first name.
