St. Charles (KSDK)-- The Missouri Highway Patrol says a wrong way driver is to blame for a three car accident that sent four people to the hospital and shut down a stretch of Interstate 70 in St. Charles.
Investigators say a Ballwin man, 22, was driving the wrong way in the westbound lanes around 7:30 p.m. Saturday when he hit another car head-on near the Cave Springs exit. Both cars spun out and were hit by a third car.
The drivers of the cars that hit head-on have serious injuries. Two people in the third car have minor injuries.
So far no charges have been announced.
