Arnold, MO (KSDK) - Anheuser-Busch will expand its Arnold metal container facility over the next two years, increasing not only the size of the facility, but also production and job force at the plant.

Metal Container Corporation (MCC) produces aluminum cans for Anheuser-Busch and major U.S. soft drink companies, including PepsiCo. and Monster Beverage Corporation.

Thanks to a property tax abatement program made in collaboration with Jefferson County and the City of Arnold, A-B will sink between $70 million and $80 million into the expansion project. More than 100,000 square-feet will be added to the warehouse and production areas, resulting in the creation of 20 new jobs. The expansion is expected to be completed in 2013.

Metal Container Corporation is a subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch and supplies more than 45 percent of the brewer's beer cans and 55 percent of its lids for the U.S. market. Can plants are located in Arnold, Missouri; Jacksonville, Florida; Mira Loma, California; Newburgh, New York; and Windsor, Colorado. Lid plants are in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Riverside, California.

Anheuser-Busch is a subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch InBev, the world's largest brewer.
