John Cochran VA Medical Center
St. Louis (KSDK) - The Cochran VA Medical Center got a check-up Wednesday from the Chairman of the House Veterans Affairs committee.
Representative Jeff Miller toured the facility with his fellow Congressman Lacy Clay, Todd Akin and Russ Carnahan.
This follows an investigation into whether tools were being sterilized properly, sparked in part by a series of I-Team investigations.
The hospital briefly suspended surgeries in 2010 because of sterilization concerns.
Earlier that year they warned 18,000 veterans that they may have been exposed to hepatitis or HIV because of improperly cleaned dental equipment.
This was Representative Miller's first visit to the Cocharan Center.
