St. Louis (KSDK) - A St. Louis police officer charged with DWI and assault has been arraigned.
Michael Schinner, 27, entered a plea of not guilty Wednesday.
Schinner is accused of driving the wrong way down DeTonty Street in south St. Louis around 2:15 a.m. on Christmas Eve.
He was off-duty at the time, and hit an unmarked on-duty police vehicle near Tower Grove Avenue.
The officer in the unmarked car was taken to an area hospital with hip and leg injuries. A passenger inside Schinner's car was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Schinner suffered only minor injuries in the accident.
He was charged with second-degree assault on a law enforcement officer, second-degree assault, and driving while intoxicated.
Schinner was suspended from the police department.
