St. Louis (KSDK) - We're getting a look at something that only soldiers usually get to see.
It's called a field memorial service and this one was for a Franklin County soldier killed last month in Afghanistan.
A crew from our sister station in Anchorage was in Afghanistan on assignment when Specialist Jeffrey White Jr. was killed by a roadside bomb.
His entire company lines up for the memorial with his boots, helmet and weapon near the front.
White's comrades remembered him as a huge St. Louis Blues and Cardinals fan.
"He was probably the happiest man in the world when he got to go home on leave and see his St. Louis Cardinals win the World Series," said Pfc. Aaron Kizer.
The 21-year-old Pacific high school graduate was just days away from heading home for leave again when he was killed.
