Columbia, IL (KSDK) - Two people have been charged following a high-speed pursuit that started in south St. Louis County and ended in Columbia, Illinois Monday evening.
Multiple charges have been filed against 33-year-old Donald W. Arndt of St. Louis and 23-year-old Brittany D. Pashia of De Soto.
Around 6 p.m. Monday a St. Louis County police officer noticed a white truck in the parking lot of the Walmart on Telegraph Road was registered as stolen.
When the officer got out of his patrol car to speak with the man and woman inside the truck, they began to drive and tried to run the officer over.
The suspects drove eastbound on Interstate 255 into Columbia, Illinois and crashed behind a home on Lovell Landing.
There was an altercation between officers and the suspects, and a St. Louis County police officer fired shots at the suspects, who were taken into custody a short time later.
Arndt has been charged with participation in methamphetamine manufacturing, unlawful possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, unlawful possession of methamphetamine manufacturing materials, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, and resisting a peace officer.
His bond is set at $350,000.
Pashia has been charged with participation in methamphetamine manufacturing, unlawful possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, and unlawful possession of methamphetamine manufacturing materials.
Her bond is set at $250,000.
