O'Fallon, MO (KSDK) - The St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney's Office amended the charges against two O'Fallon, Missouri men who allegedly attacking and stabbing a 54-year-old last week during an alleged attempted robbery after the victim died.
According to Col. Roy Joachimstaler, Chief of Police for the O'Fallon Police Department, the attack occurred Friday, June 8 just before 5 p.m. in the 800 block of Blackberry Lane.
Police found the victim with stab wounds to his head, neck and upper torso. The man was rushed to a local hospital to be treated. He died June 15 from his injuries.
Detectives identified two men as suspects: 18-year-old Avery Cornuelle and 20-year-old Peyton McAnelly. The two men were later arrested.
Police said prosecutors amended the charges against both suspects to second-degree murder, two-counts of armed criminal action and attempted robbery.
