IMPERIAL, Mo. (AP) - Two men have died after their car rear-ended a tractor-trailer near Imperial in Jefferson County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol identified the victims as Joseph Davis,31 and Matthew Held, 57, both of Hillsboro.
The accident happened around 1:10 a.m. Saturday on Old Highway M east of Lemay Ferry Road.
The patrol says the tractor-trailer's driver was backing up to turn into a private drive when the car crashed into the rig. Davis and Held died later at a St. Louis hospital. Another occupant in the car sustained moderate injuries.
