St. Louis (KSDK) - The Missouri Lottery is now working to meet its requirement to contribute around $8 million more a year to public education.

It's all part of the state legislature's budget plan for the next fiscal year.

The public frenzy over the record-breaking $656 million Mega Millions jackpot pushed the increase in the lottery's contributions.
