Alton, IL (KSDK) - Independence Day celebrations are getting underway all over America. Even so, many municipalities have canceled their fireworks displays due to the dangerously dry conditions. But the show will go on in Alton.
Crews from Central States Fireworks work for several hours to set up the fireworks display, expected to last just under 30 minutes. The fireworks event starts at 9 p.m.
Riverfront Park will feature entertainment, bands, food, and merchandise.
