Lewis County, MO (WGEM/CNN) - Two people have been killed in a small plane crash in northern Missouri.
Police say the two men were flying to an antique air show in Iowa when the plane went down in Lewis County.
Authorities found the wreck around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
However police say the plane could have crashed hours earlier.
A local resident recalls hearing what he thought was a plane at about 5:45 p.m. and then thought he heard the crushing sound of metal.
The FAA and National Transpiration Safety Board are trying to determine what caused the crash.
