St. Louis (KSDK) -- A stretch of westbound I-64 in downtown St. Louis, including lanes and ramps, will be closed Wednesday night.
The closure includes lanes and ramps between the I-44/I-55 ramp on the Poplar Street Bridge and the 21st Street on the double deck structure. It begins at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Crews will be preparing the lanes for opening later this week.
Two westbound lanes will be open by 5 a.m. Thursday.
Through this weekend, crews will keep the Broadway, 10th Street and 14th Street ramps closed, as well as up to two lanes on westbound I-64. Although the barrier has been removed, one lane will remain closed around the clock on westbound I-64 with a second lane closed between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. the following morning. All westbound lanes and ramps should be opened by noon Saturday.
Crews still have two weekend closures scheduled for westbound I-64 as part of the project to remove and replace the driving surface on the double deck structure. They are set for September 14-17 and September 21-24.
