St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - The St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office charged a 43-year-old man in connection with the fatal shooting of a relative during an argument over food.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the 5600 block of Hiller Place just after 1:00 a.m. Monday and found 44-year-old Lessie Lowe with a bullet wound to his chest. Lowe was pronounced dead at a local hospital a short time later.
Police arrested the suspected gunman, John Cunningham, in the 5100 block of Mimika just before 1:30 a.m.
Witnesses told police that Lowe and Cunningham were arguing on the side of a home when the other man pulled a gun and opened fire. Investigators said the two men had been arguing over food. The specifics of that argument were not disclosed.
Cunningham was charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. He's being held without bond.
