(CNN) - Cancer is now the leading cause of death among Hispanics in the United States, according to a report released Monday by the American Cancer Society.
The finding is due in part to the younger age distribution of Hispanics. There are fewer Hispanics in the United States over the age of 85, where heart disease is predominant.
The cancer death rate in Hispanics has been on the decline since 2000.
Cancer death rates for all Americans have dropped since 1991.
