Washington, D.C. (KSDK) - Mitt Romney's campaign is now responding to the video that was secretly recorded of the presidential candidate at a private fundraiser.
Romney was reportedly not aware someone was using a hidden camera to tape him while he spoke about the race. The video was made public after someone provided it to the liberal magazine "Mother Jones."
On the recording, Romney is heard speaking about how he will try to win the electorate vote. He reportedly thought his comments would stay in the room.
Romney Campaign Communications Director Gail Gitcho has released a statement about the recording saying, "Mitt Romney wants to help all Americans struggling in the Obama economy. As the governor has made clear all year, he is concerned about the growing number of people who are dependent on the federal government, including the record number of people who are on food stamps, nearly one in six Americans in poverty, and the 23 million Americans who are struggling to find work. Mitt Romney's plan creates 12 million new jobs in four years, grows the economy and moves Americans off of government dependency and into jobs."
