St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - Today in St. Louis anchors Jennifer Blome and Pat McGonigle visited cancer patients at the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes Jewish Hospital on Thursday. The visit was to help raise awareness about KSDK's upcoming "Pedal the Cause" fundraising campaign.
"Pedal the Cause" is a bicycle race sponsored by KSDK and championed by newscaster Leisa Zigman, who is a cancer survivor.
Pat, Jennifer, Leisa, and Kay Quinn passed out chocolate rose petals, donated by Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate, at the hospital to show their support for local research and patients.
Jennifer Blome came away inspired by the courage of Nancy Vincent, who received her final chemotherapy treatment on Thursday.
Pat McGonigle got some laughs from 6-year-old Sierra Miller, a brave little girl being treated for leukemia.
