Pacific, MO (KSDK) - A collision involving three semis forced the westbound lanes of Interstate 44 to close Wednesday morning.
The crash occurred around 6:00 a.m. Two semis ended up on the right side of the road with visible damage. The third semi ended up on the left shoulder. It had a side panel peeled back and it appears it spilled cans all over the road.
The back-up was over six miles at 8 a.m. and stretched back to Six Flags St. Louis.
The best alternate route for drivers is to exit at Six Flags and take Allenton to Old Route 66, which will become Osage Road and will take drivers through Pacific.
One westbound lane reopened by 10 a.m., NewsChannel 5's Steve Patterson reported. The remaining lanes are expected to reopen by 10:30 a.m.
