St. Louis (KSDK) - The National Red Ribbon Week contest has been extended one week due to Superstorm Sandy.
The original contest deadline to win a $1,000 drug prevention grant for the entrant's local school was November 2. That deadline has now been extended to November 9.
The online voting timeframe was November 2 through November 16 and has been rescheduled to November 10 through November 24.
Ten schools across the United States will win the grant for their school, and ten families will each win an iPad for their home.
This is the National Family Partnership's 27th Annual Youth Drug Prevention Campaign.
To learn how to enter the contest, watch this video on YouTube. Entries involve students bringing the Red Ribbon Week message home, submitting a photo of the family and their Red Ribbon Week decoration, and uploading it to RedRibbon.org/Contest or through the National Red Ribbon Week Facebook page.
To vote on entries, visit the Red Ribbon website between November 10th and November 24th.
