St. Louis (KSDK) -- A summer partnership has paid off and is benefiting The Backstoppers.

This summer, volunteers folded 1,000 origami cranes and put them on Art Hill as a memorial for St. Louis police, fire and EMS personnel killed in the line of duty.

The cranes were adopted for $10 each.

Representative s from the STL Crane Project gave Backstoppers a check for $3,500 Monday from the project.
