ST. LOUIS (KSDK) - This week the public gets the chance to learn more about plans to develop areas around some MetroLink stations in Missouri and Illinois.
Local government leaders are trying to find out if new retail, residential, and entertainment venues around the stations would be viable.
Three public meetings are scheduled this week to discuss the plans. Each meeting will focus on the specific stations mentioned on each date.
The first meeting will be about the Emerson Park and Jackie Joyner-Kersee Stations will be at the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Center at 101 Jackie Joyner-Kersee Circle in East St. Louis December 11.
The second meeting will be Wednesday at the Fairview Heights Public Library in the lower level meeting room at 10017 Bunkum Road in Fairview Heights. The meeting will focus on the Fairview Heights Station.
The third meeting will be Thursday regarding the North Hanley Station. The meeting will be on the UMSL campus in the JC Penney Center Summit Room at 1 University Boulevard in St. Louis.
All three meetings will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Meetings regarding two additional stations will be scheduled for January.
