O'FALLON, Mo. (KSDK) - Eating food out of a can is something many of us do often. But what the daughter of a NewsChannel 5 photojournalist found in her can of fruit was so disgusting we decided it needed to be a news story.
It usually covers a wound, a cut, or a scratch. But yesterday the Meyer family says there was a bandage in their canned fruit.
When one of the children poured the can of oranges into a bowl she saw a bandage. Possibly a used bandage with the number 2 printed on it. A strand of hair appears to be stuck to the bandage.
The two cans were part of a 12 can case purchased at Costco in St. Peters and distributed by Golden Star Trading Company of Torrance, California. The label says the product was made in china.
NewsChannel 5 spoke with a Golden Star official who has promised to examine the offending item and said the Meyer family can return the unused cans for a full refund.
