TECUMSEH, Kan. (KTKA/CNN) - He's still a student, but one young man wants to serve on his own district's school board.
Chance Lammer, 18, is running for a seat in Tecumseh, Kansas. He's currently the only candidate, but he has a good argument for why he should be elected.
"My biggest advantage is that I'm a student in the Shawnee Heights High School, and I see what happens. And I get to see, basically like a police officer undercover. So basically I get to see everything that not necessarily all the other administrators or the board members may see in the day. I see this five days a week for seven or eight hours a day. And I've done it for 18 years," he said.
Lammer says he was inspired to run after a teacher told him he would make a good politician.
