Study looks at birth control and fertility

KSDK - Some women may wonder if years of birth control use interferes with their fertility. A study hoping to dispel that mindset is underway at Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Jeff Peipert is the Robert Terry Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

He's leading the study and looking for participants. Dr. Peipert joined NewsChannel 5's Kay Quinn to explain who can take part in the study.

Participants must be:

1. Between 18 and 35 years old

2. Recently stopped or planning to stop using a birth control method to try to get pregnant

3. Have a male partner

4. English speaking
