JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon is preparing to outline his budget and policy vision for the state as he begins a second term in office.
The Democratic governor is scheduled to deliver the annual State of the State address Monday evening to a joint session of the House and Senate. He also is to release details of a state budget plan for the fiscal year that starts July 1.
Nixon has already said his budget will include a proposed expansion of Medicaid health care coverage for low-income adults and more funding for college scholarships and early childhood programs.
House Speaker Tim Jones is to deliver a Republican response following Nixon's speech.
