St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - A motorist who collided with a postal service truck exiting the highway had to be cut free from the wreckage of the vehicle they were in overnight.
Police responded to the crash scene at the bottom of the 14th Street exit ramp off eastbound I-64 just before 2:00 a.m this morning.
When officers arrived they found the driver of a sport utility vehicle trapped in the vehicle which had crashed into, and under the side of the trailer portion of the 18-wheeler.
Investigators have not yet determined how the crash unfolded, but say the SUV was on 14th Street and collided with the semi as it was turning north off the ramp from the highway.
The 14th Street ramp off I-64 was closed for a time while the investigation was on-going.
No names have been released and the injured victim was taken to an area hospital. The driver of the truck was uninjured.
