SAPPINGTON, Mo. (KSDK) -- A student who helped raise money for the American Heart Association in honor of his cousin is being rewarded for his hard work and dedication.

Concord Elementary School fifth grader Jimmy Keating raised $655 in the school's Jump Rope for Heart program by sending emails and making phone calls to family and friends.

On Friday morning, he was presented with a plaque that will hang in the school gym.  It will be named after him for the rest of the year.

Keating has raised more than $1,000 for the program in three years.
