Aeneas Williams elected to Hall of Fame

KSDK - Former Ram Aeneas Williams has been selected for the Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2014, the Rams tweeted on Saturday.

The Class of 2014 also includes Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Derrick Brooks, New York Giants defensive end Michael Strahan, Buffalo Bills receiver Andre Reed and Seattle Seahawks tackle Walter Jones. Punter Ray Guy and defensive end Claude Humphrey made it as senior members as well.

Players required 80% of the vote among the 46-member selection committee that met for 8 1/2 hours.

Williams -- an eight-time Pro Bowler, spent the last four seasons of his career with the Rams. In 14 NFL seasons, he had 677 tackles and 55 interceptions. He's one of six players in history to return nine interceptions for touchdowns.He was also a member of the 1990s all-decade team. Before heading to the Rams, Williams played for the Arizona Cardinals.
