St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - The day before the St. Louis Cardinals play its first home game of the 2012 season, Budweiser is pledging to donate money to a charity providing scholarships for military families.

Budweiser will donate $5,000 for every walk-off home run during Major League Baseball's 2012 regular season to the Folds of Honor Foundation (FHF). Founded in May 2007, FHF provides post-secondary educational scholarships to families of U.S. servicemen and servicewomen killed or disabled while serving their country.

FHF has provided more than 2,600 scholarships to recipients across the country.

The brewing giant will also contribute a portion of all sales between May 20 and July 7 in an effort to raise as much as $2.5 million for the Folds of Honor Foundation.

Budweiser donated approximately $2 million to Folds of Honor Foundation last year by donating portions of sales and $100 for every home run hit during the 2011 regular season.

Fans can donate $5 to FHF by texting the word "HERO" to 80888.
