St. Louis (KSDK) -- NFL Hall of Famer Dan Dierdorf celebrated the Cardinals Home Opener at Joe Buck's restaurant in downtown St. Louis.
Dierdorf played 13 years with the football St. Louis Cardinals and shared Busch Stadium with the baseball Cardinals.
He grew up in Ohio and was a Cleveland Indians fan. He moved to St. Louis in 1971 and quickly figured out what Cardinals baseball means to the city of St. Louis.
Dierforf said he has been to almost every Cardinals Opening Day game since he came to St. Louis.
Dierdorf sat down with NewsChannel 5's Art Holliday to discuss his favorite Home Opener tradition and the mindset of a professional athlete when there has been many changes to personnel on his team.
