Commerce City, CO (Sports Network) - Colorado Rapids forward Edu has received his ITC and P-1 work visa and has been added to the roster.

Edu signed late last month, and the 33-year-old will bring experience from the La Liga in Spain the UEFA Champions League to Major League Soccer.

"In adding Edu to our roster, we've given our team more options and depth in attack," said Rapids technical director Paul Bravo.

Edu, a Brazilian, made his professional debut with Sao Paulo and played in La Liga from 2000-2009 in La Liga with Celta de Vigo and Real Betis.

Colorado also waived midfielder Josh Janniere, acquired before the 2011 season from Toronto FC, and placed Ross LaBauex to the disabled list.

LaBauex recently underwent successful sports hernia surgery and is expected to be out 4-6 weeks.

The Rapids will visit D.C. United on May 16 for their next MLS match.
