St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - Cliff Lee remains winless, but Hunter Pence smacked a go-ahead two-run homer in the top of the 10th inning, lifting the Philadelphia Phillies to a 5-3 win over the St. Louis Cardinals in the middle installment of a three-game series.
Lee, who hasn't registered a win in seven starts, fanned seven and surrendered three runs on eight hits and three walks in seven innings. He is 0-3, but maintains a sparkling 2.82 ERA. Offensive ineptitude has hurt Lee as the Phillies have recorded just 12 total runs while Lee is in the game.
Jonathan Papelbon registered his 14th save in 14 opportunities with a 1-2-3 10th frame for Philadelphia, which has won three straight on the heels of a four-game losing streak.
Rafael Furcal hit a solo shot for the Cardinals, who have lost six of their last nine contests.
