Harris, MI (Sports Network) - Leah Wigger closed with a 2-under 70 on Sunday
to win the Island Resort Championship.
Wigger finished her second Symetra Tour victory at 7-under-par 209. She won
two weeks after finishing second in Illinois.
The 27-year-old started her round with back-to-back birdies from the first.
Wigger parred her next six holes at Sweetgrass Golf Club, then stumbled to a
bogey on the par-5 ninth.
Wigger erased that mistake with a birdie on No. 10. She closed her round with
eight consecutive pars.
Victoria Elizabeth carded a 3-under 69 to share second place for the second
time in four weeks. She ended at 4-under-par 212 and was joined there by
Victoria Park (68) and Nicole Jeray (70).
Natalie Sheary posted a 4-under 68 to join Hanna Kang (70) and Aimee Neff (72)
in fifth place at 3-under-par 213.
