O'Fallon, Mo (KSDK) -- The triple digit heat did not stop 50 area baseball players from shattering a record for a good cause.
The players set the Guinness World Record for the longest recorded game ever played at 7:38 a.m. Thursday. The players high-fived each other when they broke the record. They then continued playing and will wrap at 7 p.m..
The money raised from their effort benefits Backstoppers, an organization that provides support to the families of public safety workers who have died.
NewsChannel 5's Steve Patterson spoke to NewsChannel 5 Photojournalist Jim Tuxbury who is participating in the game.
