Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - Seattle Sounders FC is in the midst of a club- record winless run, but coach Sigi Schmid said you have to "lick your wounds" and get ready for the next match.

Seattle grabbed a point at Real Salt Lake on Wednesday after a 0-0 tie, but it still pushed its winless run to nine matches.

Sounders FC (7-5-6) will try to end its slump, the second longest current skid in MLS, when it welcomes the Colorado Rapids (7-9-1) to CenturyLink Field on Saturday.

"Definitely, we'd like to win for sure. We want to be a tough team to beat and I think we've gotten back to that; we lost that for a couple of games and we've gotten back to that, which is very important," Schmid said.

"Now it's a matter of the soccer catching up and us playing better and walking away with a win. It will help our confidence as well."

Seattle has five draws during its streak and sits just nine points off the top of the Western Conference in fourth place. Forward Freddy Montero believed the club will turn it around.

"We know we have very good players who can turn this around. We know what we need to do for the next game at home," Montero said. "We need to get three points; doesn't matter how we play. If we play good or bad, the most important thing is the three points."

Colorado (7-9-1) played well Wednesday in a 1-0 loss to Vancouver Whitecaps FC - which scored on its only shot on goal. Darren Mattocks scored for Vancouver after a defensive mistake.

"We need to learn to win games like this. We need to learn to get back into a game like that and not just tie it but win it," Colorado defender Drew Moor said. "This is a game that we have to win."

Colorado has lost three of its last four, but is still fifth in the West and just five points behind Seattle with one less match played.
