Harrison, NJ (Sports Network) - Red Bull New York announced Friday that it has
acquired goalkeeper Bill Gaudette from the Los Angeles Galaxy in exchange for
the club's natural 2014 second-round MLS Supplemental Draft pick.
Gaudette joined Los Angeles for the 2012 season after a one-year stint with
the Montreal Impact of the North American Soccer League. He appeared in three
matches for the Galaxy, posting a 0-2-1 record and 1.33 goals against average.
"Bill is an experienced goalkeeper in American soccer and MLS," said Red Bulls
General Manager and Sporting Director Erik Soler. "He will provide quality
competition and guidance for our two young goalkeepers and we are excited to
bring him to New York."
The 30-year-old St. John's University product began his professional career
with the Columbus Crew in 2005 before moving on to the Puerto Rico Islanders
in 2008. He has been capped twice for the Puerto Rico national team.
