Bastad, Sweden (Sports Network) - Reigning champion Polona Hercog and France's
Mathilde Johansson won their respective semifinal matches on Saturday at the
Swedish Open.
The Slovenian Hercog cruised past seventh-seeded German Mona Barthel 6-1, 6-3
on the red clay at Bastad Tennis Stadium.
Hercog beat Johanna Larsson in last year's Bastad finale to capture her lone
WTA singles title. She holds a 1-2 mark in finals.
Johansson took down Larsson 6-4, 6-4 on Saturday to reach her second career
title match. She finished runner-up at Bogota in 2011.
Hercog and Johansson have met just once before.
The 2012 Bastad champion will earn $37,000.
