St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - The Dodgers' eight-game win streak over the Cardinals was finally snapped last night. An 8-2 victory over Los Angeles was capped by a six-run sixth inning that featured a walk with the bases loaded by starting pitcher Adam Wainwright, his second RBI of the game. Wainwright pitched all the way into the eighth and struck out seven to earn the win.

Kyle Lohse will get the ball tonight for the Birds, winners of four of their last five. After hitting a wall in May, the twelve-year veteran has come alive the last two months. Lohse's wins above replacement (WAR) rating sits at 3.0, tied for fifth among pitchers in the National League. In each of his last nine starts, the right-hander has gone at least six innings and allowed no more than three runs.

In his last start against L.A. on May 20, Lohse allowed a season high 11 hits, but limited the Dodgers offense to only three runs. Quite possibly his worst outing last year came against the Dodgers at home. He gave up eight runs on eight hits and threw 64 pitches in three innings. Lohse seems to be a lot better pitcher this year though and has turned in eight quality starts in the nine games he has pitched at Busch Stadium.

To counter, the Dodgers will send out Aaron Harang. The former teammate of Lohse, Harang has struggled against the Cardinals, specifically at Busch Stadium in the past. He has started nine games at Busch and is 3-5. In all 24 games against St. Louis, Harang is 7-13 with a 4.47 ERA. He has three straight quality starts in July though and got the win at New York in his last start, working five innings and giving up only four hits.

Success and familiarity will play alongside the Cardinals' offense tonight. Skip Schumaker (10 for 36, three doubles), Carlos Beltran (10 for 29, two home runs) and Rafael Furcal (10 for 21, five RBI) have seen plenty of Harang in the past.

The injury to Lance Berkman last night could be the difference to tonight's game. Berkman has 58 at bats against the righty and has smacked seven home runs. The switch hitter was hit in his right knee last night off a Clayton Kershaw curveball and was lifted later in the inning for a pinch runner. "Big Puma" is listed as day to day with a bone bruise.

The Dodgers own a 4-1 record over the Birds this year as they look to take game three of a four game series tonight in St. Louis. Game time is 7:00 CST.

Other News and Notes:
From 1901, the Dodgers own the series against the Cardinals dating back to their days in Brooklyn. They are 507-433 all-time.

The Cardinals purchased the contract of Brian Fuentes from their AA affiliate. You can read more about it under the sports section. He will be in uniform tonight.

Adam Kennedy is day to day for the Dodgers after tweaking his groin last night. The former Cardinal is hitting .405 in 40 plate appearances against Kyle Lohse.
