Denver, CO (Sports Network) - Matt Holliday crushed a go-ahead, three-run homer in the seventh inning, sparking the Cardinals to a 9-6 victory over the Rockies in the second meeting of a three-game series.
Holliday, one day after homering and driving in four runs in an 11-6 win, smacked two round-trippers and drove in five against his former team on Wednesday.
His efforts allowed Jake Westbrook (10-8) to reach double-digit wins for the second straight season. Westbrook earned the victory despite allowing five runs on nine hits over six innings of work.
Tyler Colvin went 3-for-4 with two triples, two runs scored and an RBI for Colorado, which has dropped five in a row and seven straight at home.
