Kiawah Island, SC (Sports Network) - Chris Stroud has replaced an injured Ben Crane in the field for the PGA Championship.

The year's fourth and final major starts Thursday on the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island.

Crane pulled out of the tournament because of a back injury that forced him to withdraw from last week's WGC-Bridgestone Invitational during the third round.

Stroud's best finish in 21 PGA Tour events this year has been a tie for fifth at the Mayakoba Golf Classic in February.
