Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - The U.S. women's national team added two games
to their Fan Tribute Tour on Thursday, announcing a pair of friendlies against
two-time World Cup champion Germany in October.
The United States, which won the 2012 Olympic Gold, will play Germany on Oct.
20 at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Ill., and on Oct. 23 at Rentschler Field in
East Hartford, Conn.
The Americans and Germans are currently ranked first and second, respectively,
in the world. The United States, which won its third straight Olympic gold in
London, has also won the World Cup twice.
The United States starts its tour on Sept. 1 against Costa Rica at Sahlen's
Stadium in Rochester, N.Y., and also plays Australia twice, on Sept. 16 at The
Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., and on Sept. 19 at Dick's Sporting Goods
Park in Commerce City, Colo.
