Daytona Beach, FL (Sports Network) - Daniela Iacobelli closed with a 4-under
68 on Sunday to win the Daytona Beach Invitational by two strokes.
Iacobelli completed her first Symetra Tour title at 11-under-par 205 on the
Champions Course at LPGA International.
The 24-year-old had two birdies and a bogey on the first five holes. She
cruised to six straight pars around the turn. Iacobelli dropped in back-to-
back birdies at 12 and 13.
Iacobelli, one of three leaders entering the final round, led by one at that
point, and remained there with four straight pars. She closed the win in style
with a birdie at the last.
Esther Choe (67) and Stephanie Connelly (69) share second place at minus-9.
Nicole Smith, who shared the second-round lead with Iacobelli and Courtney
Massey, closed with a 71 to joined Katie Kempter (69) and Sara-Maude Juneau
(70) in fourth place at 8-under-par 208.
Massey struggled to a 1-over 73 that left her tied for 11th at minus-6.
This was the last event of the season and the top-10 players on the money list
earned their LPGA Tour cards for 2013. Choe, Paola Moreno, Victoria
Elizabeth, Thidapa Suwannapura, Iacobelli, Mi Hyang Lee, Jenny Gleason, Julia
Boland, Smith and Juneau were the lucky 10.
Jenny Suh was sixth on the money list with two events to go, but shared 26th
last week and missed the cut this week to slide out of the top 10.
