St. Louis (KSDK) - The Cardinals are headed to the postseason again after the LA Dodgers lost in San Francisco.

The Cardinals had a chance to clinch earlier Tuesday night, but fell to the Reds 3-1.  That left members of the team waiting to see what happened in Los Angeles.

That game ended with the Giants winning 4-3, eliminating the Dodgers from postseason contention.

The Cardinals will play the Braves in Atlanta in a one-game playoff Friday.
