St. Louis (KSDK) -- The St. Louis Cardinals will play the Atlanta Braves in a single elimination wild-card game Friday afternoon. The winner will advance to the National League Division Series.
NewsChannel 5's Frank Cusumano is traveling to Atlanta to cover the game. He called into Today in St. Louis to share his prediction for the match-up.
Frank explained that on paper it seems that the Braves have the advantage, but it is hard to count out the defending world champs.
Braves pitcher Kris Medlen has won 23 consecutive starts. He will pitch against Kyle Lohse for the Cardinals. Lohse has never won a game in the postseason.
Last year when everything was on the line, the Cardinals excelled and made the postseason and went on to win the World Series. In contrast, Frank said the Braves "folded like a napkin" under pressure.
