COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - Country singer and Boonville native Sara Evans is returning home to sing the national anthem at Saturday's Alabama-Missouri game.
Evans grew up on a farm near the Howard County town of New Franklin and started singing in a family band as a child before moving to Nashville. She has recorded seven albums.
Missouri (3-3, 0-3 SEC) is still seeking its first Southeastern Conference win in its first season since leaving the Big 12. The Tigers host No.1 Alabama in a nationally televised game with a 2: 30 p.m. kickoff.
