Cali, Colombia (Sports Network) - Sebastian Fernandez birdied the first
playoff hole Sunday to win the Arturo Calle Colombian Coffee Classic.
Fernandez closed with a 70 and Jose Manuel Garrido carded a 2-under 69 in the
final round. The duo finished at 9-under-par 275. Fernandez then birdied the
first extra hole at Club Campestre de Cali to earn his first win on the
Latinoamerica Tour.
Fernandez birdied the second early in his final round, but gave that shot back
with a bogey on No. 7. After nine pars in a row, he birdied the 17th to move
back to minus-9, then parred the last to get into the extra session.
Garrido had a bogey and 11 pars through 12 holes in the final round. He poured
in three consecutive birdies from the 13th, however, to move to 9-under.
Garrido then parred the last three to end alongside Fernandez.
Third-round leader Matias O'Curry (71) and Bruce McDonald (67) shared third
place at minus-8.
Oscar Fraustro (69), Clodomiro Carranza (71) and Michael Buttacavoli (74) tied
for fifth at 7-under-par 277.
