Kirkwood football players and coach receive top honors

(KSDK Sports) -- The accolades for the Kirkwood High School football team continue as the six Pioneers and their head coach were received multiple honors today from the Missouri Football Coach's Association for the all state football team.

Head Coach Matt Irvin has been awarded as St. Louis Rams Coach of the Year, Class 5 Coach of the Year and High School Coach of the Year  

Six players were named to the Missouri First Team on both offense and defense.  On offense, quarterback Jordan Bishop, who also was named Offensive Player of the year, wide receiver Andre Harris, and offensive lineman Matt Berry.

Named to the First Team Defense, defensive back Eddie Richey, defensive end Tony Leachman and linebacker Jarrod Bishop. Bishop also joined his brother in earning an additional award, earning the coveted Defensive Player of the Year Award.
