The Wisconsin Badgers and the Illinois Fighting Illini meet up in Madison on Saturday in Big Ten college basketball action.

The Wisconsin Badgers got off to a slow start to the season but as the season has gone on they have heated up and they have started their Big 10 season 2-0.

Wisconsin has gone 9-1 at home overall thus far and they have played the 168th ranked schedule in the country. As a team Wisconsin is averaging 70.6 points, 14.6 assists, and they are shooting 44.3 percent while defensively they are allowing 54.9 points, 8.3 assists, and their opponents are shooting 40.4 percent.

Jared Berggren is averaging 13.3 points and 6.1 rebounds, Ryan Evans is averaging 11.5 points and 8.0 rebounds, and Ben Brust is averaging 11.3 points and 6.3 rebounds. This will be Wisconsin's stiffest conference test thus far but they follow it up with a trip to Indiana.

The Illinois Fighting Illini have run hot an cold this season as they followed up last Saturday's blowout win over Ohio State up with a home loss to Minnesota. Illinois is still nationally ranked having played the ninth ranked schedule in the nation and they are 6-2 away from home this season.

As a team Illinois is averaging 75.2 points, 11.6 assists, and they are shooting 43.6 percent while defensively they are allowing 65.8 points, 12.6 assists, and their opponents are shooting 41.2 percent. Brandon Paul is averaging 18.6 points and 5.1 rebounds, Tracy Abrams is averaging 12.2 points, and D.J. Richardson is averaging 10.8 points and 4.6 rebounds. Illinois is looking to avoid their first back to back losses of the year.
