The crowd got its money's worth Saturday night at the War Memorial at Oncenter in Syracuse, N.Y., as two minor league hockey teams battled in more ways than one.
With 14:24 left in the second period, a major brawl broke out between the Syracuse Crunch and St. John's Icecaps. After two big checks into the glass, players from the two AHL teams went at it. While the linesmen were busy separating the players in the corner, goaltenders from each squad met at center ice to duke it out.
The Crunch's Dustin Tokarski and the Icecaps' Eddie Pasquale dropped their gloves and helmets and thoroughly went at it for roughly 30 seconds before being broken up.
